Carriage Mounted Spreader Bars - As the name implies, this particular mast comprises 3 sections. The outside section mounts securely to the lift truck. The next middle section telescopes inside of the external section. The inmost part telescopes within the intermediate section. The inner section and the middle section both elevate when the lift cylinders extend. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides inside the internal part. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas like doorways where overhead clearances are limited. This particular mast is often equipped with a center cylinder in order to let the fork carriage elevate a few distance before the mast sections commence lengthening.
The 2 Stage Mast has two sections. The inner section telescopes in the outer and elevates when the lift cylinders lengthen. The external part of this mast model is attached to the lift truck. The fork carriage is actually situated in the inner section. This particular mast type has a taller lowered height as opposed to an equivalent 3 stage mast or lift height quad mast.
